Our
capacity to hope is constantly
challenged by the disturbing news
in our
newspapers and on our television
screens.
However what are education, culture
and even more spirituality if not
that
effort man makes to reveal his best
part
and thus, through a remarkable path,
give back to humanity its essential
dignity.
Human destiny is caught between these
two poles: the resignation temptation,
on
the one hand, or the conviction,
on the
other hand, that by the means of
our
personal commitment we can work,
at
some degree, to build a better world.
It is this latter path that we want
to tread
in Fès. In the first place,
we pay homage
through music to the many cultures
of our
world and to their innate beauty.
And
secondly, we present the Colloquium,
The Fès Encounters: Giving
a Soul to
Globalisation. Here we invite constructive
debate on the political and spiritual
coexistence of peoples and cultures
that
is not only peaceful but also creative
and full of hope.
